Important Conditions

  • ETA must be approved before arrival — apply only through the official eta.gov.lk portal.
  • Free of charge for Indian nationals holding ordinary, diplomatic, official or service passports.
  • 30-day stay with a double-entry facility from the date of first arrival.
  • Children under 12 of any nationality receive a free tourist ETA for up to 30 days.
  • Extensions are applied for in Sri Lanka through the immigration e-services portal.
  • Fees paid on third-party websites are not refundable and may not be valid.

Entry, permitted stay and extension decisions rest entirely with the immigration authority of Sri Lanka. Meeting every condition does not guarantee entry.
