- Machine-readable passport with at least one month's validity; passports with handwritten extended validity are not accepted.
- Confirmed onward or return ticket out of the Maldives.
- Prepaid, confirmed booking at a registered resort, hotel or guesthouse, or sufficient funds (commonly assessed at about US$100 plus US$50 per day).
- Traveller Declaration submitted electronically on the IMUGA portal within 96 hours before arrival — it is free of charge.
- Employment or paid activity is not permitted on a tourist visa.
- Entry and permitted stay remain at the discretion of Maldives Immigration.
