Kenya eVisa / ETA Required Before Travel for Indians

Kenya replaced its visa system with an Electronic Travel Authorisation. Every visitor, including infants, must hold an approved eTA before travelling. There is no visa on arrival for Indian ordinary passport holders; holders of Indian diplomatic, official and service passports are exempt for stays up to 90 days.

Important Conditions

  • Approved eTA, usually issued within about three working days — apply well before departure.
  • Passport valid for at least six months with a blank page.
  • Accommodation booking and travel itinerary.
  • Paid eTA is single entry; the officer sets the stay up to 90 days.
  • Yellow fever certificate may be requested depending on your routing.

Entry, permitted stay and extension decisions rest entirely with the immigration authority of Kenya. Meeting every condition does not guarantee entry.
