Indian travellers can either pay at the Visa on Arrival counter at a designated airport or apply online in advance for the electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) through the official immigration portal. Visa-free entry to Indonesia applies only to ASEAN nationals, so Indian passport holders always need a visa.

- Passport with a minimum validity of six months from the date of arrival.
- Onward or return transportation ticket out of Indonesia.
- Permitted stay is 30 days, extendable once by a further 30 days; it cannot be converted into another stay permit.
- Employment, and appearing as a paid speaker at events, is prohibited on this visa.
- The e-VOA must be used within 90 days of issue — the validity period is different from the permitted stay.
- Travellers to Bali also pay the separate Bali tourist levy per visit.
- Overstaying attracts daily fines and possible deportation.
Entry, permitted stay and extension decisions rest entirely with the immigration authority of Indonesia. Meeting every condition does not guarantee entry.
